Planning and production administration

A production process which is completely order driven, and which largely consists of one-off manufacturing, places extremely high demands on planning and production administration. Accordingly, at Richardssons we have an employee dedicated solely to this function. Our production administrator goes through all the drawings and models from a manufacturing perspective. All this ensures that the production process flows as smoothly as possible.

For many years Richardssons has used the Mapaz MPS system for planning all our production operations. We input into the system all the components that we will make and which operations we will be doing. The system gives us start lists and priority lists for the machines. It also indicates bottlenecks and predicts delays so that we have plenty of time to remedy any capacity problems.

When we confirm a new order we always create an outline production plan in order to reserve the resources that will be required by the order in question.
